Rubbish Corporate Gifts
Corporate gifts can be a great way of promoting your organisation, but if you get it wrong they can also spell disaster.
Bad Corporate Gifts
Quality is everything when it comes to giving corporate gifts. If you give a client a pen, and it doesn't work, they may make the association that you also don't work very well. Give them a clock that stops working after a week and they may think that you do things on the cheap.
Tread Carefully
Items of clothing that have an XXL label might be considered insulting. A bottle of whiskey at Christmas, probably won't be well received from a recovering alcoholic. Gadgets and toys might entertain some of your clients, but you should also be aware that others may consider them childish or useless.
Corporate Gifts for Everyone
Be very careful on handing out a range of gifts to your various clients. Consider how your client may react when they receive a bottle of wine, knowing that you gave one of their colleagues or competitors a bottle of champagne?
Cheap and Nasty Corporate Gifts
It should go without saying that cheap and nasty will never win you any votes of approval, and yet we've probably all been given a corporate gift that breaks as soon as you open the box. If your budget is tight, or your really stuck for ideas, don't buy anything. A cheap and nasty is worse than nothing at all.
